Academic project

The Academic Project consists the final stage of the M.Sc. program degree which provides the students with the opportunity to conduct their own original research and mark their transition from postgraduate to scholars.

The goal is to show that students have gained the necessary skills and knowledge in order to independently plan and execute a research project investigating a specific and focused topic. Their work should demonstrate that they are skilled in identifying and proposing a suitable area for research, setting research objectives, organizing and critically analyzing the extant literature, selecting an appropriate research methodology, gathering primary data, analyzing collected data, drawing conclusions and making relevant recommendations for further research.

The dissertation is a formal document with rules guiding its drafting and presentation. Its chapters need to provide the following parts: introduction, literature review, research methodology,  data analysis/discussion, and finally, conclusions and recommendations. Its approximate length ranges between 15,000 to 20,000 words.  The Academic Project is considered a significant body of work accessible to future scholars and researchers for consultation and reference and it represents students' contribution to the body of knowledge.
